About Oncopathology 2019

Conference Series is truly delighted to announce 13th World Congress on Oncology and Pathology(Oncopathology Conference 2019) which is going to be held on November 25-26, 2019 at Helsinki, Finland. Oncopathology Conference 2019 revolves around the theme "Treatment approaches in Pathology and Diagnostic in Cancer".

Oncology:

Oncology is the term used for the study of the cancer and it is branch of medicine. Doctor who specializes in the Oncology is known as Oncologist. The vital role of the oncologist is to diagnose the people who are suffering from the cancer and explain the effects during the treatment. There are different types of Oncologists in treating the cancer. Medical Oncologist treats the cancer with the chemotherapy process. Surgical Oncologist involves in the removal of the tumor and the surrounded tissue during the surgery. Radiation Oncologist used to treat the cancer with the Radiation therapy. The Cancer is a common term for a large group of diseases that can affect any organ in the body. Other terms used are malignant tumors and neoplasms. One of the significant features of cancer is rapid creation of abnormal cells that grow beyond their usual margins, and which can then attack the adjoining parts of the body and spread to other organs. This process is referred to as metastasis. They are the major cause of death to cancer. Tobacco use, alcohol use, unhealthy diet and physical inactivity are the main cancer risk factors worldwide. Chronic infections from hepatitis B (HBV), hepatitis C virus (HCV) and some types of Kaposi’s sarcoma are leading risk factors for cancer in low- and middle-income countries.

Pathology:
Pathology is the medical specialty concerned with the study of nature and causes of diseases. In every aspect of medicine, from diagnostic testing and monitoring of chronic diseases to cutting-edge genetic research and blood transfusion technologies. Pathology is the integral to diagnosis of every cancer. Pathology is the study of the causes and effects of disease.  Pathology is the study of disease in general, incorporating a wide range of bioscience research fields and medical practices. The causes and effects of diseases, especially the branch of medicine that deals with the laboratory examination of samples of body tissue for diagnostic it is also subdivided into internal and external, or medical and surgical pathology. Departments are nosology, etiology, morbid anatomy, symptomatology, and therapeutics, which treat respectively of the classification, causation, organic changes, symptoms, and cure of diseases. Cellular pathology, a theory that gives the vital action of cells in the healthy and diseased function of the body.
Some important branches of pathology:
Anatomical Pathology:
The area of pathology involves the examination of surgical specimens removed from the body or sometimes the examination of the whole body to investigate and diagnose disease. On examining a biopsy, the following aspects are considered
  • Gross anatomical makeup of the sample
  • Microscopic appearance of cells
  • Chemical signatures in the sample
Surgical Pathology:
This involves the examination of specimens obtained during surgery such as a breast lump biopsy obtained during mastectomy
Histopathology:
This refers to the examination of cells under a microscope after they have been stained Molecular pathology is a multi-disciplinary field that focuses on disease at the sub microscopic, molecular level. Aspects studied may include a mixture of anatomical pathology, clinical pathology, genetics, molecular biology and biochemistry. Appropriate dyes
Cytopathology:
Cytopathology cells that have been shed into bodily fluids or obtained by scraping or aspirating tissue are examined. Typical examples include cervical smear, sputum and gastric washings.
Clinical pathology:
Branch of pathology involves the laboratory analysis of body fluids  such as blood, urine or cerebrospinal fluid and body tissue for the diagnosis of disease. Some of the main subspecialties of clinical pathology include:
Chemical pathology, also called clinical chemistry, involves the assessment of various components in bodily fluids such as the blood or urine, although for the main part it concerns the analysis of blood serum and plasma.
Molecular Pathology:
Molecular pathology is a multi-disciplinary field that focuses on disease at the sub microscopic, molecular level. Aspects studied may include a mixture of anatomical pathology, clinical pathology, genetics, molecular biology and biochemistry.

Track 1: Oncopathology

The word cancer indicates almost 200 unique diseases that begin when a part of the body gets abnormal, developing and multiplying rapidly. Cells develop a gap to produce more cells just when the body needs them.  Sometimes the cells get separated when the new cells are not required. These additional cells can be the shape of a mass of tissue, called a tumor. A tumor might be generous-harmful or carcinogenic. Unlike normal cells, cancerous cells continuously divide with no control. They don't self-destruct or die when they get to be exhausted Cancer cells affect solid cells and stop them from doing their occupations. They can attack nearby tissues or spread too far in the body to make new tumors, a procedure called metastasis.

Track 2: Breast Pathology

Breast cancers can be divided into two main overarching groups: the carcinomas and sarcomas. Carcinomas are cancers that arise from the epithelial component of the breast. This epithelial component consists of the cells that line the lobules and terminal ducts; under normal conditions, these epithelial cells are responsible for making milk. Carcinomas are majority of all breast cancers, Sarcomas are rare cancers that causes from the connective tissue components of the breast. These connective tissue component cells include myofibroblasts and blood vessel cells, and cancers arising from these "supportive" cells include phyllodes tumours and angiosarcoma. Sarcomas account for less than 1% of primary Breast Cancers.

Track 13 : Radiation Therapy

Radiation therapy is commonly applied to the cancerous tumor because of its ability to control cell growth. Ionizing radiation works by damaging the DNA of cancerous tissue leading to cellular death. To spare normal tissues generally as part of cancer treatment to control or kill malignant cells and normally delivered by a linear accelerator. Radiation therapy may be curative in a number of types of cancer if they are localized to one area of the body. It may also be used as part of adjuvant therapy, to prevent tumor recurrence after surgery to remove a primary malignant tumor (for example, early stages of breast cancer). Radiation therapy is synergistic with chemotherapy, and has been used before, during, and after chemotherapy in susceptible cancers. The subspecialty of oncology concerned with radiotherapy is called radiation oncology.
